Beijing II

More pictures from the northern capital of the middle kingdom.

Beijing has undergone a lot of change for the approaching Olympic games. I LOVED this sign in a subway station. We really are ONE world with ONE dream. If there's one thing that I 've learnt while travelling it's that people are so similiar the world over. Letters to the editor in the China Daily addressed the traffic congestion and the increasing work-load for school kids. This is replicated in most newspapers the world over. We really are so similar.

Tiananmen Square by Day. The square is the biggest public square in the world. It is one kilometer long and can fit one million people.
A family strolling through the square flying kitesThe Chinese love children. This hapless couple were trying to get junior to quit the tantrum and walk, but before long a crowd gathered offering chocolates and other treats to the kid and observing how cute he and his sister were.
